Division 3 & Division 4 Update – Play-Off Draw
The league draw has now been completed, with the exception of the three remaining places in Division 3.
Six clubs from Division 4 expressed an interest in filling these vacancies. As a result, three play-off matches will be played to determine which teams will complete the Division 3 line-up.
The winners of each play-off will be placed into Division 3, while the runners-up will remain in Division 4 for the 2026/27 season.
The draw for the play-off matches has been recorded and is shown below.
Why are play-offs required?
Division 3 originally consisted of 10 teams for the 2026/27 season. However, four teams were removed, leaving seven teams, before Treorchy were relegated from Division 2. This meant Division 3 had just seven clubs, creating three vacancies.
At the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, any club not already competing in the league was classified as a new club for the 2026/27 campaign. Under league rules, all new clubs must begin in the lowest division. With 13 clubs meeting this criterion, Division 4 was created to accommodate them.
To ensure Division 3 returned to its full complement of teams, all Division 4 clubs were invited to express an interest in filling the three vacant places. Six clubs accepted this opportunity, making play-offs the fairest way to determine which three teams will move into Division 3.
